Mutton bustin’ is a beloved rodeo activity for children, where young participants, ages five to seven and under 55 pounds, ride a sheep out into the arena to see who can stay on the longest. This October, Rodeo All-Star will host the first-ever Colorado Mutton Bustin’ Championships, with registration open to 900 kids.
“We believe this to be the largest gathering of mutton busters in Colorado history over a two-day period, with 900 riders ready to compete in the first-ever Colorado Mutton Bustin’ Championships,” said Paul Andrews, President & CEO.
Before each ticketed rodeo performance there will be a RAS Mutton Bustin’ Qualifier, accommodating up to 300 children. The top eight mutton bustin’ scores and two lucky numbers from each qualifier will advance to compete in the Championship round during the rodeo.
