Breakaway roping is the fastest event in rodeo, with times as quick as 1.9 seconds. Like other roping events, it is the skill of horse and rider. The roping skills are precise, and once the animal is roped, the horse stops, the rope breaks away from the saddle horn, and the clock stops. For more information on breakaway roping and other rodeo events, please visit RAS rodeo events. Before each rodeo performance is the new RAS mutton bustin’ qualifier competition. The NW Event Center doors will open early for fans and families to cheer on 30 kids as they grab the sheep by the wool and hold on to qualify for a spot in RAS Mutton Bustin’ Sheep Stampede in each rodeo performance.Tickets to Rodeo All-Star Weekend start at just $29 and are on sale now at rodeoallstar.com, the National Western Box Office, or by phone at 1- 888-551-5004.
